Life is filled with so many unexpected things, some big and important, others small and minute, all different for each individual.
Most recently, I have found this list of unexpected things to undoubtedly include the people I continue to meet along my own journey and the surprising events some days occasionally contain that, unbeknownst to me, have the potential to change the path I walk forevermore.
As I write this piece, both mourning the loss of my beloved Grandma and cherishing the legacy she left behind, I have come to the realization that big or small, important or minute, all “things” serve a vital purpose during events such as the death of a loved one…Memories. And I know in my heart that with all of these memories to continuously look back on, she will never truly be gone from me or my family. With these memories, she will always be alive in spirit.
“She is clothed with strength and dignity and laughs without fear of the future.”
– Proverbs 31:25 (NIV)
In loving memory of Barbara Veale (1939 – 2016)
